Embrace Failure

Muscle failure

When it comes to lifting weights and performing strength-training moves like squats, lunges, and push-ups, you should push through your sets until you just can’t possibly squeeze out one more rep. This is called reaching “failure” and it means you’ve pushed your muscles to their absolute maximum ability. It’s good to know what it feels like to reach total failure when performing a strengthening move, like with sit-ups, dumbbells, or pushups, because people often underestimate what they are capable of until they really try and test their limits.

No Muscle

People often lift weights that are too light, or hold back and not perform as many reps as they really could, because they have never tested their limits. Not challenging your perceived limits will have you spinning your wheels and losing out on achieving greater results from the time you are dedicating to fitness. You will see quicker results and burn more calories when you push your muscles to the max. Go ahead and be a failure!
